MEET EVAN

The person across from you.

I’m Evan, a Registered Provisional Psychologist, athlete, and someone who enjoys getting to know people beyond what they do or how they’re performing.

Born in France and currently based in Edmonton, I work with teens and adults ages 15 to around 35, offering counselling and sport psychology support in English and French.

I hold a Master’s in Educational Psychology, with a focus on counselling, from the University of Alberta as well as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

À propos de moi

A little more about me

Who I am

I’m Evan, a Registered Provisional Psychologist, athlete, and entrepreneur based in Edmonton. I moved to Canada from France in 2016, and I speak both French and English.

Sport has always been a big part of my life, especially soccer and track and field. I love the competition, the energy of being part of a team, and having something to work toward. My own journey in track has included competing at the varsity level, earning national and conference medals, and serving as a team captain.

Beyond sport, I’ve managed my own small business and been involved in youth and community programs. I enjoy having different interests and taking on new challenges, not being defined by just one role.

I’m down-to-earth, curious, and always happy to make room for a good conversation and a laugh. Psychology is an important part of my life, but so are sport, connecting with people, and enjoying the moments in between.

What bought me here

My path into psychology brings together my interests in people, sport, and what we don’t always see on the surface.

As an athlete, I’ve experienced how much can happen behind a performance: the expectations, uncertainty, and pressure that aren’t necessarily visible to anyone watching. That perspective has shaped my curiosity about how people are doing beyond their results, achievements, or the impression they give others.

Moving from France to Canada in 2016 is another important part of my story. Getting used to a different environment and building a life here gave me my own experiences of change, adjustment, and finding my place.

Why this work matters to me

What matters to me is getting to know the person behind what others see, the athlete behind the result, the student behind the grades, or the person who seems to be handling everything but is carrying more than people realize.

I want to offer a space where you don’t have to keep up appearances or prove that things are difficult enough to deserve attention. Somewhere you can be honest, feel understood, and take time to figure out what you need, not just what’s expected of you.

This work also matters to me because it isn’t only about getting through difficult moments. It’s about making room for enjoyment, connection, and the things that make you feel like yourself. I value being part of conversations where people can explore something difficult, discover a different perspective, and still share a laugh along the way.

How we can work together

Space for you. Support for what's next

Psychologie

You don’t have to carry it all alone.

Sometimes you know what’s bothering you. Other times, you just know you haven’t been feeling like yourself. You might be carrying stress, navigating a change, struggling in your relationships, or noticing that the same patterns keep showing up.

Counselling is a place to slow down and make sense of what’s happening, not just find ways to keep pushing through. Together, we’ll explore what you’re experiencing, what might be contributing to it, and what you’d like to be different.

Our work can include:

  • Understanding emotions and recognising when pressure is building.
  • Exploring relationships, expectations, and boundaries.
  • Working through difficult experiences and recurring patterns.
  • Finding practical ways to respond to everyday demands.
  • Making room for enjoyment, connection, and the things that matter to you.

My approach is conversational and collaborative. I’ll bring questions, observations, and direction, while leaving room for your perspective and feedback. We can have difficult conversations and still laugh along the way.

Sport Performance

The person behind the performance.

You can care deeply about your sport and still find parts of it difficult. Competition, expectations, setbacks, and the pressure to improve can take up a lot of space, even when you enjoy what you do.

My work brings together my background in psychology and my experience as a competitive athlete. We can focus on the mental side of performance while also making room for how you’re doing as a person. You don’t have to separate what happens in sport from everything happening outside it.

Our work can include:

  • Developing routines for focus, preparation, and competition.
  • Exploring confidence, self-talk, and responses to mistakes.
  • Navigating performance pressure and expectations.
  • Working through setbacks, injury-related challenges, and changes in your role.
  • Exploring identity, motivation, and your relationship with sport.
  • Making room for school, work, relationships, rest, and life beyond performance.

Sessions aren’t about being positive all the time or learning to ignore difficult thoughts and feelings. We’ll explore how you respond when things get difficult and develop approaches you can practise in training, competition, and everyday life.

I work with individual athletes and teams. Individual sessions offer room to explore your own experiences in depth, while team sessions create opportunities for shared discussion and mental skills practice. The focus is on meaningful support, not simply adding another expectation to perform.
